What we do
We do accounts receivable. Only accounts receivable.
Most software tries to do everything and ends up doing none of it well. Meredith focuses on the commercial-agency and related administrative scope defined in each written client agreement. This page explains the public boundary.
What Meredith does
Six things. All the way through.
Eligibility, channels, review steps and feature availability are confirmed during onboarding. The client remains responsible for its underlying supply, instructions and professional advice.
01
Raise invoices under your authority.
Where authorised by your written agreement, Meredith prepares or issues invoices using the supplier, line-item, tax, and customer-reference information you provide.
02
Follow the agreed reminder schedule.
The account setup defines the permitted timing, tone and escalation path. Follow-up pauses when a genuine dispute is identified.
03
Reconcile available payment information.
Meredith can match the payment information available through the approved arrangement. Exceptions and missing references may require client review.
04
Reconcile and remit collected funds.
Payment handling and settlement follow your written agreement and remain subject to verification, compliance checks, and banking availability.
05
Track agreed dates and milestones.
Where included in scope, Meredith records dates and invoice instructions provided by the client. It does not decide whether an amount is legally or contractually due.
06
Provide agreed records.
Available exports, fields, access and delivery methods are confirmed during setup. Clients and their advisers remain responsible for accounting and tax decisions.
What Meredith doesn’t do
The line, in plain English.
Most of this list is here because someone, somewhere, has promised it and then quietly under-delivered. We’d rather be clear about the edge of the job than vague about the middle of it.
We don’t do your tax.
VAT returns, corporation tax, self-assessment, P11Ds — none of it. Your accountant does that, and we make their job easier, not redundant.
We don’t give financial advice.
Not on cashflow strategy, pricing, or whether to take a contract. Meredith does not provide regulated financial advice.
We don’t lend you money.
Meredith does not provide advances, factoring or invoice discounting. Settlement follows the written client agreement and remains subject to checks and banking availability.
We don’t factor your invoices.
Meredith does not purchase receivables or provide finance against them. The legal position for each invoice follows the underlying contract and written client appointment.
We don’t do bookkeeping.
Meredith may provide the records included in the agreed scope, but does not replace the client’s ledger, accountant or tax adviser.
We don’t write your contracts.
Your terms of business are yours. We follow them. If you don’t have any, your accountant or a solicitor can help — we can’t.
We don’t decide genuine disputes.
When a genuine dispute is identified, routine reminders pause and the issue follows the process in the written agreement.
We don’t use data outside the stated purposes.
Personal information is handled under the Privacy Policy, applicable law and approved processor arrangements.
The line
Meredith is your commercial agent.
Where a client appoints Meredith under a written agreement, Meredith acts only within that agreement’s defined commercial-agency scope. The underlying customer relationship and supply remain with the client.
We are not a lender. We are not a factor. We are not your accountant or your solicitor. Payment handling and settlement remain subject to the agreement, verification, applicable law, third-party rules and banking availability.
If something we’re asked to do crosses the line, we’ll say so — and point at the right person to do it instead.
